European Biathlon Championship: Italy Hosts the Best Competitors

The end of January this year was reserved for the European Biathlon Championship. The host country, Italy, welcomed this prestigious competition at the Val Martello Biathlon Center from January 29 to February 2. The championship featured around 40 nations, with a total of 132 male and 113 female competitors.

Among them was our national team, which traveled to the European Championship with one male competitor. He competed in the individual 20-kilometer and sprint 10-kilometer events. In addition to these disciplines, competitions were held in pursuit and team relay, but our team did not have participants in those categories.

The most successful team of the championship was Norway, which won the most medals.

Additionally, this month brings us the Biathlon World Championship, set to take place in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, from February 12 to 23. Unfortunately, our team will not have representatives at this competition.
