The 17th Winter European Youth Olympic Festival will take place in Bakuriani, Georgia, from February 9 to 16, 2025.

This will be the first time Georgia hosts the winter edition of EYOF and the second time it hosts this competition overall, following the summer edition held in Tbilisi in 2015. In addition to Bakuriani, competitions will also be held in Batumi and Tbilisi. Although EYOF officially begins on February 9, the girls’ ice hockey tournament will start earlier, on February 6.

The European Youth Olympic Festival is rich in Olympic traditions, from the lighting of the Olympic flame, opening and closing ceremonies, and athlete and official oaths. EYOF symbolically unites young people across Europe and provides top young athletes with their first experience of an Olympic event, while also encouraging young people to engage in sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.

It is worth recalling that the 2019 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival was held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Sarajevo and East Sarajevo as host cities.
