Achieved goals and new challenges

The 2024/2025 season, following the established schedule, began this year in Scandinavia. The first competitions were held in Idre, Sweden, followed by events in Geilo, Norway, a few days later. The Biathlon National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at these competitions by athletes from our club, Anastasija Vojinović, and a newcomer to the world of biathlon, Strahinja Erić, a competitor from the ski club “Istočno Sarajevo.” The Scandinavian tour proved to be very successful for these two athletes, achieving planned goals and earning the necessary points for the nation ranking on the IBU list.

After Scandinavia, the end of the first trimester was marked by the performance of our national team members in Obertiliach, Austria. Joining the aforementioned athletes were Sara Plakalović from the ski club “Istočno Sarajevo” and Stefan Lopatić from our club, competing in the mixed relay and single-mixed relay. With these performances, the team secured additional points and further improved their position on the IBU Nations Cup ranking.

Following the New Year holidays, the national team continued its performances across Europe. This time, the team, consisting of Sara Plakalović, Maja Mumović, Strahinja Erić, and Stefan Lopatić, competed in the second trimester in Osrblie, Slovakia. Competing in the men’s and women’s sprints, mixed relay, and single-mixed relay, the team, following the pre-established plan, continued to meet the outlined objectives for the season.

The next appearance of our national team is scheduled for the European Championship in Martell, Italy, where we expect the participation of at least one male and one female competitor.
